Yesterday my honey and I went for a walk. It was such a beautiful evening and there is a really great park about 3 miles from us. At the entrance of the park they have a historical sight with some preserved houses and all sorts of interesting buildings. My #1 concern was the goats!!! They still have an active farm with cows, sheep, bulls and best of all GOATS!! I am a goat whisperer I think cause watch this magic:

I have more pictures on my flickr. The walk/hike was really fun. They have all these trails, horse trails and even frisbee golf courses. Some how we ended up on a really remote trail and were a bit worried that we were going to get lost but eventually we found a way out. Along the way we found a dam and Grey insisted on taking a picture of me sitting near it ...

It was a lovely walk. On the way home we stopped by the local elementry school to swing for a while. We didn't really walk all that far but it really wore me out. I am trying to stay as active as I can tolerate so that I can stay healty for the pregnancy and hopefully can lose the baby weight after. I have seen a bunch of pregnancy yoga videos for sale at Barnes and Noble and Target. I think I am going to get one of them. I heard yoga is really good. My whole body is changing and stretching would be good. Right now my hip bones are growing and changing to get ready for birth and for the first time since childhood I am feeling growing pains. Countdown to Friday when we will get to know if its a boy or girl. I can't wait!!!

Hooked...

A guilty confession... Grey and I are hooked on Grey's Anatomy. Its so pathetic. We borrowed season one and two from his brother and we have been watching an episode or two (or three) every night before bed. Now we have to score season three or I think we will go into a fit or something. I love being hooked on a TV show. Its been a while since I have really been into a show. It has been so much fun. Anyways.... just finished listening to the Daily Breakfast. I finished knitting a sweater that I have been working on for a while. It isn't exactly the most beautiful think ever but... I made it and its comfortable sooo...

Aside from the Sanrio Characters and technical aspects of the game, there is one concept that we have been promoting as one of the game’s strongest points — the community aspect. Although we’ve seen a lot of it here and there in the game, during the latter part of the Closed Beta, something great happened in Hello Kitty Online. I can't wait to play!!!

Happy 19 weeks

I am addicted to baby kicks ; ) Sometimes I will read out loud or massage my belly just to feel them. They are getting strong enough that they can be felt on the outside too. I seriously can't wait to have this baby lol. I have always loved babies but now I am ridiculous. I cry and giggle when I see them (even on TV). I am approaching the halfway mark and I secretly hope the next 4 months fly by. It has been raining every day and yesterday there was a huge storm. Afterwards there was a really pretty rainbow...

Grey and I have been playing all sorts of games. We have been really into Facebook apps like YoVille and Hatchlings. Its is funny. We also have been playing a lot of Scrabble. Its really fun to play in a rainstorm. I had never played until a few weeks ago and I taught Grey how to play so technically we are new to the Scrabble scene. I took a picture of our board after our first ever game. (I lost ha ha) I plan on blowing it up and framing it. Think it would be cool.

I also signed up for twitter today... not really sure why. I listen to a podcast called the Daily Breakfast which is hosted by a catholic priest from the Netherlands. It is a great show. I have been listening for over 2 years. Anyways, the priest (Father Roderick) has a twitter and I like following him so I added the app. If you have it and want to add me let me know.

First dress so far... I made it to grow with my belly... which is growing all the time. I am pretty proud of it. I know its not like project runway material but I am going to keep making dresses. None of my clothes fit right anymore but all the maternity stuff I try on makes me look odd. Its just not my style to look like a "mom". So I am doing pregnancy my way : )

Listening to J-pop (i know i know) and watching my mom and dad try to iChat but my mom keeps loosing her connection so she is online then off then back. Its cute. I sent her and IM and was like "are you having problems?" shes just says "yea" so cute!!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Fathers Day. I am not a father but as a mother to be... I can sorta relate... maybe.

Steps towards making a differnce...

So as I mentioned before I have an interest in Volunteering to better my community. I have sent off two applications today. One to my church to volunteer in the nursery. This is an obvious win win for me because I will be with lots and lots of babies and get some much needed experience in childcare before my little darling comes. I also contacted Cape Fear Riverwatch. They are a local group that volunteers to do clean up in local green areas and tries to encourage the community to make environmentally positive choices. I am into that. I think I am not ready to go out and sit with the homeless. I am too scared being a young, pregnant girl so this seems much better. I am feeling a big conviction about becoming more green. I was reading Genisis last night and I felt convicted when I read how God gave the earth for mankind to take care of and rule. I started watching Planet Green today. Its a new channel on cable and I really love it. I have already blogged about how I want to start a compost bin in my house to use to garden. I saw on one of the shows how they used a "worm farm" with red worms and a bin to make excellent compost. I love it. I found a website that gives directions on how to make one here. On Sunday Planet Green is going to show a special on Greensburg. A town in KY that was devastated by a tornado that had completely destroyed about 95% of the housing and businesses. I heard about it a few months ago on NPR and now they are showing how the town has seen this disaster as an opportunity to rebuild completely green. It is so inspiring. We can all do our part and I want to start doing mine and teach my children to value this planet.. its the only one we have : )

Helping out

So after I posted my blog last night I went to Donald Miller's website and found this video:

If you go to his website you can donate a dollar to the cause. It think that is really cool and I plan on giving once I get paid tomorrow. I have to admit that sometimes I am conflicted about whether to worry more about the poverty and poor living conditions of other countries and also worrying about issues here in the states. What do you think?

Blue Like Jazz

I literally just finished reading Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller and all I can say is WoW! I was supposed to read it in a small group with my cousins a few months ago but schedules kept conflicting so we never got around to reading more than the first three chapters. It has had a home on the corner of my dresser since then and I had decided to finish my delayed reading of Rant by Chuck Palahniuk first.

Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey

He is my favorite author and I wanted to stretch reading the book out as long as possible because I have a tendency to just devour him : ) So anyways... Blue Like Jazz... I picked it up again a day or so ago and have been reading it since. Its a pretty quick read but I really loved it. I found myself underlining certain sentences because he touched on so many topics. Mostly I loved his portrayal of love for others and selflessness. I also loved the stories about him and his friends ministering to others by asking their forgivness. The book was very honest and touches on many subjects that are essential to Christian faith. Mostly it encouraged me to seek out new friendships and to honestly love others. I used to be a leader in the Christian club when I was in highschool and I remember hosting prayer at the flagpole on Thursday mornings. I remember how exciting it was and how embarrassing at the same time. There we were proclaiming our dorky-ness to the whole school basically : ) I miss the fellowship that I had with that group. I find with my adult life I keep myself so busy with other things and I dont' set aside as much time for other things. I have always wanted to volunteer at a soup kitchen or do something else for my community or others but I seem to let life come between that. I know that I am called to love others and to really show the love that God has for them as well. I am thankful to have read this book because it reminded me of these things and I feel an excitement about the possibilities.
